Abstract
This chapter examines the Young Enterprise Start-Up Programme as a model for embedding entrepreneurial thinking, experiential learning and social innovation in higher education. Drawing on experiential learning theory, entrepreneurial mindset frameworks, and publicly available documentation, this chapter analyses how the programme's year-long cycle of venture creation, trading, and reflection develops students' resilience, adaptability, creativity, and capacity to act under uncertainty. Case studies illustrate how students navigate consequential decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and the emotional and practical challenges of real enterprise activities. The chapter situates Start-Up within wider institutional and policy contexts, highlighting its relevance to employability agendas, civic missions and national skills priorities. It argues experiential enterprise education offers a scalable, discipline-agnostic approach that supports universities in meeting evolving expectations while equipping graduates to contribute meaningfully to economic, social, and environmental futures.
