Abstract
The University of Chester Repository Policy outlines the principles for managing, preserving and providing access to research outputs on the University’s repository, ChesterRep. It applies to research outputs by staff, students and affiliated researchersa and supports the University's commitment to Open Research by increasing the visibility, accessibility and long-term preservation of scholarly work. It requires the deposit of a wide range of research outputs, including articles, conference papers, books, book chapters, datasets, theses, reports and creative works. It also mandates that journal articles, conference papers, book chapters and monographs must be deposited within 10 weeks of acceptance for publication, supporting compliance with existing Open Access requirements. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of deposited content and compliance with copyright requirements, while LIS Research Support oversees repository administration, metadata quality and access management. The policy also sets out procedures for metadata reuse, preservation, embargo management, and the investigation and removal of content where legal, copyright or ethical concerns arise, ensuring that research outputs remain discoverable, accessible and preserved for the long term.
