Background - High-intensity interval training (HIIT) may be a viable approach to improving the health of the general population. The objective of this literature review was to investigate the current research available on HIIT, examining its evolution, and health benefits as well as the barriers that exist to this type of training. Conclusions - HIIT is a feasible and time-efficient approach for improving overall health indicators in the general adult population.Citation
