An evaluation of the re-building of the Eaton Estate (Cheshire) 1870-1900 with particular reference to four townships forming part of the Estate

White, Graeme J; Hayes, Helen (University of Liverpool (Chester College of Higher Education), 1998-11)
This dissertation discusses a major transformation of the physical appearance of the Eaton Estate (owned by the Dukes of Westminster) between 1870-1900 and how it was organised so as to avoid a dislocation of the activities of the Estate and its tenants. Particular attention is paid to the strong impression of visual uniformity to the design of the majority of buildings in the small villages around Eaton Hall.
