      This project report discusses an evaluation of the pampering group of the Widnes Sure Start Widnes Trailblazer programme. The pampering group is a weekly service of health and beauty tratments to parents and parents-to-be, as well as informal advice from other parents and professionals about childbirth and child rearing in order to support parents during pregnancy and a baby's first year.
    • An evaluation of the Wallasey Heart Centre

      This project report discusses an evaluation of Wallasey Heart Centre, an intermediate cardiovascular clinic designed to provide accessible high-quality patient care to an area with a high prevalence of of coronary heart disease and poor access to existing secondary care services. The service began in October 2000 with funding for three years. The views of local GPs, local cardiologists, and Wallasey Heart Centre staff and patients were sought.
    • Providing health care for the homeless population: An evaluation of Chester City Homeless PMS pilot

      This project evaluates the Chester City Homeless PMS pilot. Homeless people, when compared to the general population, have poor health, one reason being their infrequent use of health care services. In 2001 a PMS pilot to provide primary health care to homeless people was established in Chester.
    • Use and experiences of front-line health services amongst Black and Minority Ethnic residents of Western Cheshire

      This small-scale study was designed to explore the use and experiences of front-line health services within the Western Cheshire Primary Care Trust area amongst residents belonging to black and minority ethnic groups. A qualitative approach was adopted for the study as the aim was to explore perceptions and capture experiences.
