dc.description.abstractThis article discusses tensions of national identity, as played out in the evolving context of post-accord transitional politics in Nepal. The rise of ethnic politics following the peace agreement in 2006 has ruptured the notion of unified national identity. Educational reconstruction must deal with the notion of identity as part of a measured process to correct the legacy of ethnic, linguistic and caste-based marginalisation in Nepal.
