The Department of Theology & Religious Studies teaches courses which explore and challenge traditional ideas and beliefs and their engagement with the world in a contemporary context. From pastoral theology to punk rock, we focus on Christian theology and its engagement with social and ethical issues; contemporary Christian ideas on science, justice, pluralism, the family, spirituality, and traditional and innovative ways of interpreting the Bible. We engage with religions such as Islam, Hinduism, Judaism and Christianity, and a diversity of modern religious movements, and examine their interaction with contemporary culture.
