Sport and Exercise Sciences : [77]

Collection home page

The University of Chester is one of the leading universities in the North West and the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences has played an important role in the recent attainment of university status and taught degree awarding powers. The Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences has a long tradition in delivering physical education since the late 1800s, while sports and leisure degrees have been some of the most popular degree programmes at Chester since the 1970s. The symbiotic relationship between teaching and research is central to the quality of the undergraduate (single and combined honours) programmes offered by the Department including Sport and Exercise Sciences, Sports Development and Sports Management. The latter - Sports Development and Sports Management - are the latest developments in a long tradition in training and educating future managers in the fields of sport, leisure and recreation. Equally, research led teaching is of primary importance in the MSc in the Sociology of Sport and Exercise.
